Here at SE7EN, we love using WordPress as a CMS and In this quick tutorial I am going to show you how to create a custom WordPress login page. The default wordpress login page-a white background and a WordPress logo-does the job but it is really nothing special.

The easiest and fastest way to add a custom login page to your web design project is to download the BM Custom Login.

There are other way to customize your login but the advantage of using a plugin is that your custom login page will remain intact when you upgrade your WordPress installation(which, as we all know, happens quite often).

Take the following quick steps and you’ll have a custom login page in no time.

1. Download this plugin: BM Custom Login.
2. Install the plugin by placing in the worpdess installation plugin directory: ‘ /wp-content/plugins/ ‘
3. Modify the ‘login-bkg-tile’ PDS file that is included for your convenience.
4. Save the final image in the ‘images’ directory of the BM Custom Login. folder.
5. Activate the plugin using the wordpress admin panel. (See “Plugins” in left hand menu)

That’s it. You now have a custom looking installation that will make your clients feel like you designed a full custom content management system just for them!

  I was creating a website for a client a while ago and found it difficult to find useful information on how to install WordPress on a GoDaddy hosted website.

  In the end, it was quite simple. Just follow the following easy steps and you are good to go.

  Part I – Creating the database

  1. Log into Your GoDaddy Account

  Go to your GoDaddy Hosting Control Center (Control Panel)

  2. Create The Database for WordPress to Use

  Place your mouse over the “Database” tab in the top-menu and select MySQL.
  

  On the new screen, press “Create Database”.

  

  Enter  your Database Description and Database Username (Usually the same) and then Enter your password. Press Ok.

  

  You should see your new database in the list but note that it is still “Pending Setup”. Allow a few minutes for GoDaddy to setup your new database.

  3.Record The Database Information

  Important! Write down your database name and password. You will need it for part II.

  Once your database is ready for use, “Pending Setup” will now read “Setup”. In the ‘Action’ column, press the “Pen/Pencil Icon” next to your new database.This will take you to the edit/setup page

  

  On the Edit screen, copy the “Hostname” which should read something like: databastename.db.######.hostedresource.com
